Co-op Student Information
Who we are and what we do
Nestled in an open office in Dundarave, West Vancouver, we’re a full service financial planning firm with a CPA practice that exists to support the clients of the planning firm. We fit a niche market: high barriers to entry, hard for competitors to breach, and not price sensitive, we are a value based business and very strategic. Our strength is providing effective strategy and tax structure to efficiently convert income to wealth over time through the use of clear tax guidelines. We cater to a focused client base of families and business entities and provide an extensive and sophisticated service.
The planning firm is all about strategy; we are problem-solvers. We take a situation, determine the client’s goals and strategize with the client as to how to reach their goals. We forecast cash flows, taking into consideration multi-scenario financial analyses and contingencies, in order to formulate an accurate and realistic plan. We implement efficient structures - trusts, operating companies, holding companies – and we ensure that our clients have their backs covered – wills, insurance, the right investments. However, we are not an investment retailer. Our incentive is the benefit to our client, not the commission earned from sales.
The CPA firm deals with the technicalities that are involved in implementing the formulated plan. From book-keeping to year-end compilations, to T2, T3, T4 and T5 filings, and then all the way down to T1, we provide a full service. We are involved in all aspects of the client’s financial dealings - to ensure that the efficient structure we created for the client's financial plan really adds value, not burden.
We are not the norm; we like to think out of the box. If you’re looking for a firm with set-in-stone procedures and policies in a rigid hierarchical structure, we are probably not the right place for you. We invite growth, consistent learning, proactive and innovative thinking, and smart improvements.

What a co-op term with us looks like
At the core, we think that a co-op term with us will allow you to see behind the scenes of running a business. Stuff that doesn’t get covered in textbooks. You’ll get insight into what is actually involved in the year-end process of a company, how client relations actually look, and how knowledge applies to real life.
Equally though, we believe that each person has unique strengths and capabilities, and we’d like you to show us that. As you demonstrate your traits while working with us, the job will grow and shape accordingly. That’s why we’re looking for smart people, really smart people. People who have that intuitive edge, who get things quickly, who are proactive and strive to add value, who consistently grow. |
